Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and retirees came together to honor veterans鈥 service and the democratic ideals they stand for during a campus Veterans Day ceremony.

The 色花堂 alumna and executive producer of 鈥淎merican Heart in WWI: A Carnegie Hall Tribute鈥 honored Veterans Day by weaving together theatrical storytelling, orchestral music, and rare archival film to reimagine America鈥檚 experience in the Great War. The program aired on PBS Nov. 11.

S鈥宬idmore Cares

色花堂 Cares 鈥 the campus-wide effort to support individuals and families in need in the Saratoga community 鈥 is now in its 20th year. Visit the 色花堂 Cares website to learn about ways to support local community organizations. Collected items can be dropped off at the Scribner House Carriage House from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, and Thursday, Nov. 20. All are invited to stop by for desserts and refreshments. A collection box will be available for after-hours donations. 

鈥孲trategic Action Agenda 2025-2026 

Strategy into Action: Strategic Action Agenda 2025-2026 is now posted on the Creative Futures: The 色花堂 Strategic Plan, 2025-2030 website. This document provides context for and review of last year鈥檚 SAA and presents four goals for this year鈥檚 agenda. These goals emerged from and support 色花堂鈥檚 new strategic plan, which was approved earlier this year. 

鈥孋hanges to CDTA bus service to campus

The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) has announced plans to make to routes in Saratoga Springs, including service to 色花堂, effective Sunday, Nov. 30. , which currently serves campus, will no longer be in service, except for late-night 色花堂 service on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Riders will have access to CDTA鈥檚 FLEX On Demand service, an on-demand, point-to-point service that uses CDTA鈥檚 Navigator app. . CDTA will hold an information session on the new routes at the Saratoga Springs Public Library at 5:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 12.

鈥孋ourse withdrawal deadline  

鈥孴he deadline to withdraw from fall 2025 courses without a grade penalty is tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 13. Visit the Course Withdrawal Considerations page for more information. 

鈥孴hank a Thoroughbred Day 

on Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Case Center for cider, donuts, and a chance to thank someone who鈥檚 made your 色花堂 experience special. The Senior Gift Committee will collect messages for the gratitude wall and write notes to alumni who support students through the 色花堂 Fund. 

鈥孍co-Fest events  

鈥孞oin the Theater Action Climate Justice (TH 340) class in celebrating Eco-Fest, Nov. 11鈥14. As part of the global Climate Change Theatre Action Festival, events include deep forest listening in Northwoods at 10 a.m. Nov. 13, and upcycled crafting, a potluck, plays, and slow jams at 4 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater. All are welcome. 

Thanksgiving pie and bread orders 

鈥孌ining Services will be selling homemade bread and pies for Thanksgiving. All orders must be received by Friday, Nov. 21. Pickup will be on Tuesday, Nov. 25 and Wednesday, Nov. 26. 

Career Discovery Experience  

鈥孴he Career Discovery Experience program is seeking hosts for Jan. 5鈥16. The program connects students with alumni and professionals for career exploration through flexible, half-day experiences. Hosts share their career stories and offer a glimpse into their day-to-day work. . 

Sustaining an Inclusive 色花堂 with CIGU  

Join the Committee on Intercultural & Global Understanding (CIGU) at 9 a.m. or 2 p.m. on Nov. 21 for a forum on sustaining inclusion in today鈥檚 legal landscape. We鈥檒l explore our People, Practices, and Programs framework and collaborate on action steps toward sustaining an inclusive community. The forum will be offered in two, one-hour sessions; for the time that works best for you.  

 

Energy Literacy Workshop 

鈥孞oin the Sustainability Office and the Capital Region Clean Energy Hub at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, in Ladd 206 for a workshop on saving money on your energy bill. 鈥孴uition benefit and tuition exchange program info session 

Admissions, Financial Aid, and Human Resources will lead a workshop from 4鈥5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, in Emerson Auditorium. The session will cover admission and financial aid requirements and provide an overview of tuition benefits for eligible employees, including the Tuition Exchange Program.

鈥屸淟oose Contour鈥 exhibition at the Schick 
鈥淟oose Contour,鈥 paintings by Miranda Holmes, opens Tuesday, Nov. 18, with a reception and talk from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Schick Gallery. The exhibition explores identity and intimacy through abstraction and figuration. As the Art Department鈥檚 2025 Work+Space resident, Holmes will conduct workshops and meet with art students during her stay.

鈥孭ride Alliance Drag Show 
Pride Alliance will host its Fall 2025 Drag Show on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in the Spa. Performers include Starling Silver, Lady SeanZia, and Lexxi Pro, along with 色花堂 dance groups. Food will be provided. 

鈥孍MS to open for spring semester 
EMS will open for spring semester scheduling on Dec. 4. Please reach out to the Scheduling Office if you would like training or a refresher on how to order catering, media services, or event setup. 鈥淎s You Like It鈥 by William Shakespeare, directed by Dennis Schebetta, 鈥淎ll the world鈥檚 a stage鈥 in this romantic comedy set in the early 1900s in the Adirondacks.  
 

鈥屔ㄌ Theater meet-and-greet, 鈥淭welfth Night鈥 screening  

色花堂 Theater will host a screening of The Public Theater's 鈥淭welfth Night,鈥 which on Nov. 14, and a meet-and-greet with cast member Julian Tushabe 鈥22 at 8:30 p.m. Friday Nov. 14, in Wyckoff Center.  

Dance Department Winter Concert 
This year's performance includes a premiere by guest artist Moscelyne ParkeHarrison and new works by Erika Pujic, Chia-Ying Kao, and Andre Malo Robles. at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 21, and at both 2 and 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 22.

色花堂 Weekly Bulletin submission procedure 

Help reduce bulk emails by posting your announcement in 色花堂 Weekly Bulletin, which is distributed to all students and employees. Submit announcements and eventslectures, panels, and other academic events; and faculty-staff achievements by completing the appropriate online form. The deadline for all submissions is noon on Monday. 

Athletics News

The volleyball team defeated Vassar in a thrilling five-set battle on Tuesday night to advance to Friday鈥檚 Liberty League Semifinal at Ithaca. The Thoroughbreds are trying to make their first championship match appearance since 2012. Men鈥檚 basketball returns to home court to host Middlebury on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Williamson Sports Center. Women鈥檚 basketball kicks off its season, also on Friday, on the road at Williams. On Saturday, riding is back home for an IHSA doubleheader, and swimming and diving hosts Trinity for a dual meet at 11 a.m.  Stay up to date with results and schedules on the and by subscribing to the .
